TRACTION
Spinal traction is a decompression therapy relieving pressure mechanically for both the cervical and lumbar spine. Spinal traction is a reversal of gravity technique that can be used to treat pinched nerves, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, foraminal stenosis, facet displacement, slipped discs, and bone spurs. Spinal traction stretches the spine so that pressure can be taken off any compressed nerve or disc to improve the body’s ability to heal itself.
In mechanical traction, the patient lies on a table that has the ability to stretch and relieve pressure on the spine. The goal is to decrease pain, improve spinal alignment, decompress the facet joints, and improve the way a patient moves and feels during their daily routine.
